The Pioneer Valley Engineer

What is a POWER ENGINEER?
A Power Engineer is a person proficient in converting energy into power.
For over 120 years NAPE has educated its members, in Chapters across the
country, in the field of Power Engineering. N.A.P.E. is dedicated to the
Education of Power Engineers. Mass Chapter 4 is located in Chicopee Massachusetts, and has over two hundred members that operate and maintain
power plants from Worcester to the New York State line. As an active member
of Chapter 4 your own professionalism increases each time you exchange ideas
with other members at monthly business meetings, seminars, tours or social
events. As a member of Chapter 4 we are taught that through association
there is success. |

President's
Message
September
marks the end of summer. Personally,
I feel the summer is way too short in New England, however I try to make the
most of it with my family and friends. Whether
it is relaxing at home or going to the beach, summertime is just simply
enjoyable. I hope you all had a
relaxing and enjoyable summer. As
the summer concludes, the Chapter starts its educational season up again.

In
the flyer you will find the times and dates for our 2nd Fireman’s
Preparation Course and our Continuing Education classes.
Remember, these classes have a limit on student enrollment and
Continuing Education has a limit of 30 hours per-semester.
These classes will fill up quickly and they are starting soon.
Don’t procrastinate to enroll because they will be over before you
know it!
Our
boat trip for September is full! We
have over 40 members and guests registered.
For those of you coming, the boat leaves at 6:00 pm on September 18,
2010. They will not wait
for those who are late! So please make sure to be on time.
Speaking
of September 18th,
there is a show on that date that you might want to attend.
The Whatley Engine Museum Show features steam, gas, hot air, diesel,
farm, and mill engines. Brother
Fontaine went last year and said it was truly an experience.
I believe it starts at around 9 am, parking is right there, and it is
free to attend (they do except donations).
The location is 33 Christian Lane, Whatley, MA.
Bring the family for there is sure to be something for everyone!
Our
next meeting is September 1, 2010 at 5:00 pm in the classroom.
I hope you can attend, even if it is to take a shot at our free
monthly raffle!
Regards,
Anthony
