Greetings Chapter 4 members. We are now officially into the cooler months of the year and as I ride drive around Western Mass I see the plumes of condensate coming out of all the power plant cooling towers and boiler room stacks in operation which reminds me that licensed operators are at the base of every stack providing much needed steam for electricity production, manufacturing and of course heat.

So many people are unaware that highly skilled, licensed operators are working behind the scenes keeping our communities running safely and efficiently.

Our educational director tells me that the students in this years 2nd Fireman’s class are filling out their state applications soon and are planning on taking their state exams on the last Wednesday in December and we wish them all well.
